Patriotic Week was very eventful! We enjoyed patriotic songs and an ice cream social with our preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten friends. On Friday, we tie-dyed t-shirts and pillow cases, went swimming and some campers went bowling.

We had a lot of fun and learned so much about each other during week four at Camp Adventure. We explored many different cultures and rounded out the week with a camp-wide potluck. Every camper brought in food to share from their own culture. Campers’ families joined us for Friday’s potluck, and it sure was fun and delicious!
Something really exciting that happened on Thursday this week was that a photographer from the Arizona Daily Star visited us at Camp Adventure and took a lot of pictures of the campers in action. The photographs are scheduled to appear in the newspaper on July 4th, focusing on kids in action! Stay tuned, and be on the look out for our campers’ faces in the newspaper.

Week two kicked off at Camp Adventure with “Hero Week.” We learned all about different heroes in our community. From police officers and firefighters to garbage collectors and teachers, we found out that heroes are all over. Our exciting and informative week ended with a fun Superhero parade! 7th and 8th Grade Field Trip – Our Community Service Project
The seventh and eighth graders visited the Ronald McDonald House for a community service project this week.

Our first week of Camp was so much fun! Check out this short video that shows us dancing around the campus!
Our first week at Camp Adventure was quite successful with campers getting to know one another and bonding in their own grade-level groups. Our theme, “Camper Spirit,” had children making group campsite flags. They named their group, and the entire camp was treated to an ice cream social! Take a look at some of the highlights from “Camper Spirit” week.
Campers and Counselors Getting to Know Each Other
Wow, what a fun-filled day! Camp concludes for the day at 3:30pm with a closing flag ceremony. Children can also attend before-care beginning at 6:30am, as well as after-care which is open until 6:00pm. Camp Adventure attendees are split into separate grade levels, with camp counselors heading up each group. Once a month, every group goes on a field trip. Bowling, a Peter Piper Pizza kitchen tour and the movie theater are just a few of the field trips the camp directors have planned. Every Thursday, the seventh and eighth graders participate in a community service project. An upcoming project will focus on downtown Tucson. Special presentations take place at Camp Adventure too. Presenters include National Park Service employees and a reptile specialist. Each week has a different theme here at Camp Adventure:
Week 1: Camper Spirit Week 2: Hero Week
Week 3: Pirate Week Week 4: Cultural Celebration Week 5: Patriotic Week Week 6: Go Green Week
Week 7: Out of this World Week Week 8: Musical Sensation
Camp Adventure wraps up each themed week with all of the campers joining together for games or a parade and a special treat! We will be taking pictures and will post some great photos that capture the many exciting adventures of our campers. Stay tuned for the highlights from each entertaining week at Camp Adventure!
